The first eco friendly french glasses brand: LPYV!
Generation Eyewear is proud to exclusively announce the launch of Les Petits Yeux Verts. This summer, the first collection will be launched. This French brand has a potential that we have spotted and we strongly recommend it for your children. In July, the glasses will be available for purchase through their website as well as at their optical shops (partners).
All of their glasses are made in the Oyonnax basin, a region of the Jura known for its expertise in French eyewear. Their challenge was to launch a brand that is 100% eco-friendly as well as 100% made in France to promote the local know-how (savoir-faire) and to make it accessible to all. They will be offering a range for children from 0 to 15 years old (divided into 3 categories of age) including sunglasses and optical frames featuring blue light protection.
Care for our new generations
Since we know that UV rays are harmful to children's skin, but do we think enough about this harm? To keep the harm of the sun away from our kids, Les Petits Yeux Verts’ glasses are equipped with UV 400 lenses (category 3) - certified and labeled with the label “French origin guaranteed”. Glasses that perform well with the sun are an essential accessory for children who like to play, sunbathe and ski in the sun without having to squint!
Blue light protection
In addition to their sunglasses that protect the child from the harm of the sun, Les Petits Yeux Vverts has launched a range of anti-blue light glasses. This allows children to play with their screens or watch the screen for a long time without danger! Blue light is a light emitted by the many screens that are part of our daily lives. LPYV said “we need to protect ourselves from it because blue light can potentially increase the risks of myopia and astigmatism”. Science still did not share a firm decision on the potential harm of blue light, however.
The glasses come in different colors and those are represent french flag’s colors: blue, white, red.
An Eco-Friendly approach: a unique approach in the French market!
The goal is that eco-friendly and 100% made in France glasses would be accessible to all. All of their frames are made from castor oil. It is a bio-sourced (organic) antiallergenic vegetable oil, the production of which has many benefits for the planet.
The ambition is for LPYV to be the First French eco friendly brand all made in France.
This material used does not require a lot of water, does not include any GMO (Genetically Modified Organism) and is not a cause for deforestation. This is why they call it a 100% eco friendly decision!
Their packaging is also eco friendly and made in France.
For each pair of glasses purchased, € 1 of your purchase is donated to the “Terre Solidaire Foundation”, which finances projects in favor of sustainable development. The packaging is also made in France and can be recycled.
