Veronika Wildgruber, innovation and design flair.
After two years of R&D and extensive experimentation with various materials, creative designer Veronika Wildgruber presents a new aviator design with a uniquely innovative story behind it. A unisex style frame, model Loki boasts an interwoven bridge that creates the illusion of an infinity loop – thanks to its extraordinary production technique.
The Designer
Veronika Wildgruber is a multifaceted designer based in Berlin.
Besides her eyewear collection, she is designing for French luxury brand Hermès and working with international household and furniture companies.
The Collection
Strong, independent and distinct.
Through research and experimentation, this collection fuses individual elements into a new and multi-layered aesthetic. Crossing lines create intervening spaces; varying thicknesses evoke a sense of depth.
Daring material combinations alongside delicate color tint transitions result in an unexpected three-dimensionality. Inspired by the future, architecture and geometry.
Veronika Wildgruber Eyewear first appeared in 2010 with four hand-made frames made in collaboration with the french lunetier Jacques Durand. Following their initial presentation at the Silmo show, they immediately won the Silmo d’Or special Jury price. Encouraged by this response the first series production was launched in 2012.
In 2017 she got awarded again with the precious Silmo d’Or for Best Design Sunglasses.
The collection follows a central theme, recognizable from the outset. It is reinvented and translated into different materials and processed to other levels, whilst establishing an unmistakable formal coherence.
Sustainability
Veronika Wildgruber aims to make all company processes as sustainable and circular as possible:
The glasses are delivered in cases made from 100% regenerated leather. The cleaning cloth is made in Poland from 100% recycled plastic.
Innovative designs
Exceptional in how it has been made possible, Veronika Wildgruber has ventured to explore the concepts of artists like Roger Penrose and M.C. Escher, delivering a new addition in her collection which continues to surprise and break the mold, in various ways.
Model Loki is produced in a copper alloy with nickel and zinc, sourced in Italy and Germany, to achieve the special “woven” design detail. The frame also features state-of-the-art titanium nose pads which are 100% anti-allergic, adjustable rubber temple tips for better comfort, ZEISS OM15 AR with light silver mirror flash. The frame is also produced with sustainability in mind. All material waste is sent back to the manufacturer and is 100% re-used and melted together with raw material, ensuring there is 0 waste.
