The Wildfolks, sustainable eyewear on a mission to save the wildlife

A sustainable & caring brand

Their spectacles are all handcrafted in cellulose bio acetate.

The lenses are also made from castor oil. It’s made by extracting oil from the seeds of the Ricinus communis plant. These seeds, which are known as castor beans, contain a toxic enzyme called ricin. However, the heating process that castor oil undergoes deactivates it, allowing the oil to be used safely.

The cases for their sunglasses are made from vegan leather, the lens cloth from recycled bottles, and finally, their packaging boxes are made from recycled paper.

Bio sun lenses made in Paris

Can you imagine that we use these amazing plants to produce their Bio-Sun Lenses?

Castor oil takes its energy from the bio-mass.

Castor oil takes its energy from the bio-mass.

Their Lenses are made from an ecological resin derived from castor oil, taking its energy from the bio-mass. The castor plant grows in semi-arid areas and does not compete as a food crop. The production process requires less energy than the production of a classic lens and contributes to the reduction of CO2 emissions thanks to its purified resin quality.

Why do rhinos need us?

Rhinos have roamed the Earth for more than 50 million years. In 1900 there were 500.000 rhinos in the world (Africa and Asia), today there are less than 28.000 rhinos.

80% of the World’s Rhino live in South Africa 3 rhino are killed every day by poachers, for their horns. Rhino horn is sold on the Asian black market for $65.000 per kg, more than gold and cocaine. (100k at its highest moment) largely as a symbol of wealth and status (China and Vietnam). In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Rhino horn is believed to help cure: cancer, hangover, common cold... Rhino horn is proven to cure NONE of the above! Rhino horn is made of KERATIN, the same protein found in fingernails and hairs.
